Gingerbread House

Not a doll house miniature but a miniature house all the same. The National Trust at Ashdown House have had a miniature version made in gingerbread! It looks fabulous & took 6 bakers 6 hours to create :-)
Just looks awesome I have to say :-)

Christmas outside Beds, Knobs and Broomsticks

As the evening draws in the lights come on outside the house. The living room Christmas tree is joined outside by two lit Christmas trees in the garden. The shop is open for trade and full of everything magical for witches and fellow shoppers...

Ghostly Harpist plays Christmas Carols

On the other side of the living room as we peek through the window again, you can see the ghost playing the harp for the witch who is relaxing on the sofa with the cat and a cuppa on her lap :-)
Behind the ghost is a Siamese cat lying on the top of the grandfather clock idly watching the performance.
The atmosphere in the room is wonderful, the Christmas tree lit up, the cats purring, grandfather clock ticking, the fire low in the hearth occasionally popping and the magical enthralling beauty of the harp as the ghost plays carols...

Christmas comes to Beds, Knobs and Broomsticks.

In the living room as we peek through the window, the witch sits relaxing on the sofa, feet up with a cuppa and a cat on her lap. Before her is the Christmas tree she put up earlier, it's knackering this Christmas decorating malarkey no wonder she's got her feet up ;-)

Remembering Ruth ...

Quite a few of the pieces in the Beds, Knobs & Broomsticks house remind me of people & some were given to me by them. It is 4 years since Ruth died tomorrow & her sister gave me some of her jewellery to remember her by & I always wear some of it on the anniversary that she died. There was a lovely little dragon pendant that I couldn't wear as I'd be allergic to it & so in memory of Ruth, I painted up this little dragon & placed him in the witchy shop.

He is sitting on glow in the dark eggs that I made from Fimo. Obviously dragon eggs glow due to the heat of the dragonets inside ;-) The photo shows the dragon & eggs drying after gluing in place & in the shop they sit under the dresser near a tank of toads. I think Ruth would have been quite pleased & I Know she would be happy to know there is also a Bagpuss plaque on the wall of the kinky bedroom too-I'm just sad that she never got to see that room finished.

Posting ...

I've given up on the website hope for the miniatures, I'm never getting there, too many schemes underway. In the meanwhile & triggered by photographing a 12th scale zombie grandma that I'm working on, upside down with her bloomers in the air & trying to give her wrinkled stockings made me realise that this insane world should be shared. So I will be. Only I forgot my camera today- oh well.

I haven't had a blog in years & still don't have my own internet access so posts will be sporadic. And illness slows up progress but my hopes are to post about the 5 story witchy dolls house called Beds, Knobs & Broomsticks, the Zombie Graveyard & Grime Reaper (yup spelt right!) , Clock Man & Time Thief, The Bird House (48th scale) , Dark Dreams (planned tudor kitchen with dungeon downstairs & vampire in the bedroom!) &  Winter Wonderland, The  Mouse Hole (planned in my head still) & various other projects- some rather adult in design as anyone who's seen the kinky bedroom in the Beds, Knobs & Broomsticks house will know.

That's all for now, I'm just getting used to this blog & trying to be quick as the screens still affect me badly. Fingers crossed for next time.
